I was having a nosey at the brainpickings site earlier  and the section entitled ‘Tales of the Unexpected’ reminded me of a really interesting talk I went to last year by the photographer Tim Walker. I found this really great example of packaging the other day! It’s the creation of designer Naoto Fukasawa and features the ‘skin’ of the fruit as the outer shell. Highly innovative, I don’t think you could ask for a more refreshing design for a fruit juice container!

These are some lovely paper sculptures that I stumbled across by the artist, Jen Stark. I’ve always loved paper craft and the colours of these are sublime. The finish of the pieces is really beautiful, great quality!

This is the work of Drew Europeo, entitled Enigma and is a collaborative effort with Jozias Dawson. I first saw this piece a couple of years ago, and still feel today that it is as beautiful and atmospheric as the time I first saw it. www.grafikas.com

Who knew microbes could be so much fun! These fluffy toys are made to represent a whole host of different cells, bacteria and diseases. Although the personification of some of them can be a little unnerving (the eyes don’t help!), they are rather amusing and dare I say it…cute?! You can get your mitts on them @ www.giantmicrobes.com

Last summer, I went to the Banksy exhibition at Bristol Museum, above are a selection of photographs I took whilst at the museum. It was packed the day I went, having only opened a few days before. There was a vast array of work on display, ranging from paintings to stencil art and graffiti. Plus some amazing installations! Certain exhibits in the museum had even been ‘Banksy-ed’ with parts being added, removed or tampered with. Very emotive and inspirational.

Christoph Brach and Daniera ter Haar created these quirky ways to show information. A sort of literal pie-chart, but with fruit and veg rather than pie. OK, so maybe not so literally
